Twentynine Palms Youth Council
Mission Statement: The Twentynine Palms Youth
Council strives to give Youth a voice, support the
community, and create a bridge between the city
and Youth for future generations.
The Twentynine Palms Youth Council was created to promote civic
engagement among young people by giving them the opportunity to develop
leadership skills, engage in local government, and volunteer in their community.
Highlights of the Inaugural Cohort include:
Creating the official Youth Council bylaws, mission statement, logo,
Instagram page, and action plan for the year.
Volunteering at the Twentynine Palms Senior Center.
Participating in city-sponsored events, including the Pioneer Days parade,
Halloween Bash, Holiday Festival Light Parade, & JT55.
Organizing a Food Drive to benefit Feed 29.
Creating events for youth to have fun and be engaged, including a City
Youth Olympics & Astronomy Night.
Attending leadership trainings and meeting with the City Manager and
City Council Members to exchange ideas.

26
Membership is open to rising 6th12th graders residing in Twentynine
Palms.
Applications open April 16 - May 13.
14 Members chosen by City Council
serve a 1-year term from June-May.
Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd
Wednesdays of the month at the
Luckie Park Activity Center. They are
open to the public.
